Description

Phoenix Rising is back! And I've been working hard with ~TyranitarDark making some new areas. So this is one of three I'm uploading tonight.

Note that the PokéStrap is not included in these screens, simply because I'm showing off the area and basically too lazy to play through the game to the point where you receive it, just for screenshots :p

Enjoy!

Other areas worked on during this update:

Edit: Fixed some height issues, re-positioned the chair and also changed the male character to the female lol.

Ok, a critique, here I go.

Just to start for a simple fact: the overworld sprites are too small for the screen size, in my opinion.

-Structure-
The city is pretty well organized. There're plenty of space for the character to walk and not too much. A point of victory to that.

The floor tiles have nice pattern and it's subtle. The color of those tiles, of the houses and of the sand merges very well too. Another point of victory.

-Details-
The lamp posts are nicely placed and I can assume you did put them strategically because of the default way Pokémon Essentials shows the lights during night. The lamps of the ceiling is a very original detail which I appreciate a lot. Another point!

The ornaments over there like the flower pots, those rectangular flower containers (don't know the name in english), and that wood plank gives the town more life and variety. Wohoo! Another point!

I find strange the fact that the texture on those sideways stairs are too different from the houses', seems like the stairs. were built separately and just sticked there. My personal opinion. Not a point here. <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/f/f…" width="15" height="15" alt=":(" title=":( (Sad)"/>

That bug umbrella is... is THE umbrella. I just love it, nothing more to say. Another point.

-Shading-
I've noticed many flaws when it comes to these Pokémon games. The tiles themselves are very good: original and lovely. But seems like every tile or group of tiles has it's own light source: sometimes the light seems to come from the upper left corner, and sometimes it seems to come from the upper center part of it. There's nothing bad at it, but I don't quite like that, it's not realistic and I think I'm just complaining with you.

P.D: Why does the lamp in the right of the screen (in the ceiling) not project a shadow?
